Angela Denice Dales, a 33-year-old law student, tragically lost her life on January 16, 2002, in a shooting at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia. The incident occurred when Peter Odighizuwa, a former student of the law school, opened fire on campus. Odighizuwa, who had been struggling academically and had withdrawn from the school, arrived on campus armed with a .380 ACP semi-automatic handgun.
