In a tragic turn of events on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Ronald Lee 'Joe' Lloyd, a 56-year-old male resident of Madison Heights, Virginia, lost his life in what authorities described as an attempted murder-suicide. According to reports from the Amherst County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began after they received a call that led them to a residence in Madison Heights. Inside, they discovered Mr. Lloyd, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that another individual was also deceased at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths pointed towards a domestic dispute. The other individual involved was identified as Nancy Blevins Lloyd, who was the wife of Ronald Lloyd. Authorities concluded that Nancy Blevins Lloyd shot her husband before taking her own life.
