Jim Thornton, a 71-year-old resident of Nathalie, Virginia, passed away on June 28, 2018. Thornton was well-known in his community and had been a long-time volunteer at the Thrifty Fireman thrift store in Altavista. His death was a result of a tragic incident involving his daughter, Shelley Thornton. According to reports, Shelley Thornton allegedly shot her father multiple times with a .38-caliber revolver outside his home.
