On August 18, 2018, Malcolm R. Ausborne, a 32-year-old resident of Martinsville, Virginia, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in the doorway of a residence on Dawnridge Lane in Henry, Virginia. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call shortly after 3:00 AM reporting the incident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Ausborne with a critical gunshot wound.
