Rhoda McFarland, a 42-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on February 2, 2008, in Tinley Park, Illinois. She was the store manager at the Lane Bryant clothing store in Brookside Marketplace, where the incident occurred. McFarland had previously served in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse and was deeply involved in her community, working as an associate pastor at Embassy Christian Center.
