In the early hours of a Monday morning in King George, Virginia, the life of 31-year-old Diondrae Antwain Shade was tragically cut short. On July 19, 2021, Shade was shot multiple times at the Princess Anne Trailer Park. The King George Sheriff's Office received numerous 911 calls around 2:07 a.m. from residents who heard the sound of gunfire erupting in the neighborhood.
When deputies arrived at the trailer park, they discovered evidence of the shooting but did not find a victim.
Less than ten minutes later, another 911 call came in from a resident in a subdivision off Indiantown Road. The caller reported that a man, later identified as Shade, had arrived at their home with gunshot wounds. Family members and deputies administered emergency first aid to Shade before he was transported to Mary Washington Hospital. Despite their efforts, Diondrae Antwain Shade succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
The investigation into the fatal shooting was launched immediately by the King George Sheriff's Office. Authorities noted that this was the second shooting incident at the same trailer park in just a matter of days. A man had been shot in the wrist in a separate event the preceding Saturday.
As of the initial reports, no suspect had been identified in connection with Shade's death, and authorities have not publicly released any information regarding arrests, suspects, or the motive in the ongoing investigation. The community was asked to come forward with any information that might lead to an arrest.
