Erika Prince, a 32-year-old special education teacher in Chicago, was tragically killed on June 1, 2008. Prince, who had been teaching for six years at Arthur Dixon Elementary School, was well-regarded in her community. On the night of her death, she was shot while sitting in her parked car near 87th and Euclid Avenue, outside a relative's home in the Calumet Heights neighborhood of Chicago.
