In a shocking and tragic event that unfolded on January 27, 1956, in Parsippany, New Jersey, two-year-old Peter David Bauer, a White male, was killed. The quiet community was rocked by the news of the death of young Peter, along with six other members of his family, at the hands of his own father.
The perpetrator was identified as 49-year-old William D. Bauer. In an act of extreme violence, he fatally shot his wife, Florence Alice Bauer, 42, and their two children, six-year-old Elizabeth Jane and two-year-old Peter. The tragedy did not end there, as William also murdered his 84-year-old mother, Emma Bauer, and his in-laws, Edward Charles Nuber, 66, and Ida Margaret Prisk Nuber, 63.
