In the early morning hours of September 1, 2014, the quiet of a North Brunswick, New Jersey townhouse community was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Brian Hoey, a 43-year-old male resident, was fatally shot outside of his home on Schmidt Lane. The investigation into his death would reveal a neighborhood dispute that escalated to a tragic and violent end. Police responded to a call at 1:26 a.m. and found Hoey, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:54 a.m.
