Ernest Williams, aged 17, was fatally shot on October 11, 2008, in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The incident occurred while Williams was walking home from the store. He was shot on a sidewalk in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack, adding to the grim count of gun violence victims in Chicago during that period. The attack left the community in mourning, as Ernest was just a teenager with much of his life ahead of him.
