In the quiet community of Woodbridge, New Jersey, a distressing event unfolded on the morning of December 6, 2019. Authorities were called to a residence on Kilfoyle Avenue in the Fords section of the township, where they made a grim discovery. Inside the single-family home, 77-year-old Joanne Perhacs was found deceased. She had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
Nearby lay her husband, 78-year-old Bertlan Perhacs, who was also deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after their discovery. The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, along with the Woodbridge Police Department, immediately began an investigation into the tragic incident.
The investigation led authorities to believe that the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.
