On a summer evening in North Plainfield, New Jersey, the lives of a family were irrevocably altered by a burst of gunfire. Christian Orellana, a 31-year-old male from Plainfield, was spending time with his cousins on the patio of an apartment at the Malcolm Gardens Apartment Complex on August 13, 2021. The tranquil scene was shattered when at least one assailant approached and opened fire at close range, striking all three men.
