In the late afternoon of a Thursday in early September 2021, emergency services responded to reports of a shooting in Piscataway, New Jersey. Upon their arrival at the scene, located at the intersection of Washington Avenue and West Fifth Street, they discovered a young man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
