In the quiet, early morning hours of a Saturday in Palmyra, New Jersey, tragedy struck a local family. Timothy Thomas, a 48-year-old Black male, was resting in the living room of his home on the 400 block of Cinnaminson Avenue. It was around 2:30 a.m. on March 19, 2022, a time when the neighborhood was typically still and silent. Suddenly, the peace was shattered by the sound of multiple gunshots.
The bullets tore through the walls of his residence from the outside, finding their mark and striking Thomas in the chest.
A relative who was also in the living room at the time was miraculously unharmed by the barrage of gunfire. Emergency services were quickly summoned, and Thomas was rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden in a desperate attempt to save his life.
