In a quiet Marlboro, New Jersey neighborhood, a tragedy unfolded that left a community in shock. Priscilla Badua, a 68-year-old woman, was found deceased in her home on Albermarle Drive on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 6, 2022. The discovery was made by Marlboro Township Police Department officers who were responding to a request for a welfare check at the residence.
Upon entering the home, police found Priscilla Badua and her 66-year-old husband, Felino Badua, Jr., both deceased. The initial scene prompted an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Marlboro Police Department to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The authorities assured the public that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
Subsequent autopsies conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office brought clarity to the tragic events.
The findings revealed that Priscilla Badua's death was a homicide, and her husband's death was a suicide. The investigation concluded that Felino Badua, Jr. was the sole perpetrator, having killed his wife before taking his own life in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. No other suspects were sought in connection with the case, and therefore no arrests were made. The couple had owned their home on Albermarle Drive since 1998.
