Tom Gaffney, an 8-year-old boy from Farwell, Michigan, tragically lost his life on February 16, 1982, in what became known as the Rock Road massacre. This horrific event resulted in the deaths of seven members of the George W. Post family, including Tom, his siblings Angela and Amy, his mother Helen, his grandparents George and Vaudrey Post, and his aunt Garnetta Haggart. The massacre took place at the Post family farmhouse in Garfield Township, just west of Farwell, Michigan.
