In the late summer of 2016, the life of 38-year-old Lisa Ann Fabbri, a female resident of Macomb Township, Michigan, was tragically cut short. On August 16th, her body was discovered in her car, which was parked behind a home in Lenox Township. An investigation by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office soon identified her boyfriend, 36-year-old Jeremiah James Boshell, as the primary suspect in her death. At the time of her death, Fabbri was twelve weeks pregnant.
The events following Fabbri's death unfolded dramatically as authorities began their search for Boshell. He was considered armed and dangerous, having a lengthy criminal history. The search culminated in a high-speed chase in Lapeer County. During the pursuit, Boshell fired at an unmarked police vehicle and also at a pedestrian, though no one was hit. The chase ended when he crashed his pickup truck and was subsequently arrested. Inside his vehicle, police found a significant cache of firearms, including an AR-15 and the 9mm handgun believed to be the weapon used to kill Fabbri. Investigators revealed that after killing Fabbri, Boshell had plans to kill at least two other people at a transmission shop where he used to work.
In December 2016, Jeremiah Boshell was formally charged with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with Lisa Ann Fabbri's death. The charges also included assault on a pregnant individual intentionally causing a miscarriage, reflecting the tragic loss of their unborn child. He was held without bond at the Macomb County Jail as he awaited trial.
Ultimately, a jury found Jeremiah James Boshell guilty of the charges brought against him. For the murder of Lisa Ann Fabbri, he received a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was also sentenced for the other charges related to the events leading to his capture. Subsequent appeals filed by Boshell challenging his convictions were denied, with the courts upholding the jury's verdict.
