In the winter of 2016, the life of 22-year-old Marquez MooMoo Jabar Coleman was tragically cut short. On Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Mount Morris, Michigan, Coleman was the victim of a fatal shooting. The young man, a resident of Flint, passed away at Hurley Medical Center after the incident.

Born in Flint on May 12, 1994, Marquez was a father to his children, Ma'Harri and Javari Coleman. He was a graduate of Mott Adult High School and had been employed at March Coatings. Known as 'Moo-Moo' to friends and family, he had a passion for cooking and listening to music and cherished the time he spent with his loved ones, especially his children. He was remembered as a respectable and mild-mannered young man by those in his community.

The circumstances surrounding his death were investigated by the Mt. Morris Township Police Department as a homicide. Despite the investigation, there have been no publicly reported arrests or identification of any suspects in connection with the shooting. The case remains a sorrowful mystery for his surviving family, which includes his mother, Debra Sanders, his brothers, and sisters. The community mourned his loss at a funeral service held at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, and he was laid to rest at Gracelawn Community Cemetery.
