On June 28, 2017, Jevon Moorer, a 40-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, was found dead on a sidewalk on the 13500 block of East Eight Mile, just west of Schoenherr. According to the Detroit Police Department, Moorer was discovered shirtless and wearing black jeans, with multiple gunshot wounds. A witness reported hearing five to seven gunshots around the time of the incident.
