On a tragic Friday evening, the life of 22-year-old Mariah Sinclair, a female from Taylor, Michigan, was cut short in a devastating act of violence. The events unfolded on March 9, 2018, in the driveway of a business in Woodhaven, stemming from what began as a domestic dispute. Mariah and her husband, also in his early twenties, were experiencing car trouble, which escalated into a heated argument.
The dispute took a fatal turn when Mariah's husband produced a handgun. In a moment that would forever alter the lives of their families, he shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself, ending both of their lives. The shocking incident was witnessed by a friend of Mariah's who was on the phone with 911 at the time, reporting the argument and the presence of the firearm.
Police arrived at the scene on West Road near I-75 to find the young couple deceased, both with gunshot wounds to the head. A handgun was recovered at the location. In the immediate aftermath, authorities confirmed the incident was being investigated as a murder-suicide, with the husband as the sole suspect in Mariah's death.
