The events surrounding the death of Kyrie Graham, an 8-year-old White female, unfolded on February 18, 2019, in Solon Township, near the community of Cedar Springs, Michigan. Kent County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on 19 Mile Road NE following a distressing 911 call reporting multiple unresponsive individuals. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of Kyrie and her two younger sisters, 6-year-old Cassidy and 2-year-old Alaina, inside a car
parked in the driveway. The body of their mother, 28-year-old Aubrianne Moore, was found lying on the ground nearby.
Detectives reconstructed the timeline of the tragedy, determining that earlier that day, Aubrianne Moore had checked Kyrie and Cassidy out of school around noon under the pretense of taking them to lunch. Instead, she drove the three children to a secluded wooded property belonging to her great-grandparents. In that isolated location, Moore used a bolt-action hunting rifle belonging to her boyfriend to shoot and kill all three of her daughters. Following the shootings, she placed their bodies back into her vehicle and drove to her boyfriend's home, where she and the youngest child resided.
Upon reaching the driveway of the residence, Moore exited the vehicle and turned the firearm on herself, ending her own life. The boyfriend, who was the father of the youngest child, had been asleep inside the house after working a night shift and was unaware of the violence until he woke up and discovered the scene outside. Autopsies later confirmed that the children died from gunshot wounds in a manner ruled as homicide, while Moore’s death was classified as a suicide.
The investigation revealed that Moore had a significant history of mental health struggles, including a diagnosis of undifferentiated schizophrenia and paranoia. Court records and social worker reports indicated she suffered from hallucinations and held delusional beliefs that her children were in danger or that she needed to "protect" them from unspecified threats. Due to the death of the sole suspect, Aubrianne Moore, at the scene, law enforcement closed the case as a murder-suicide, and no arrests were made or criminal charges filed in connection with the deaths.
