On February 1, 2010, Ramone Washington, aged 17, was shot and killed in Chicago's West Humboldt Park neighborhood. The tragic incident occurred in the afternoon when police believe Washington's assailants chased him down before shooting him. The shooting took place near the 1100 block of North Keystone Avenue, after a neighbor called the police to report screaming followed by gunfire.
