On June 15, 2010, 17-year-old Cojuan Harper was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred at around 5:40 p.m. when Harper was standing outside a Citgo gas station at 2941 East 83rd Street in the South Chicago neighborhood. Two individuals wearing black hooded sweatshirts approached him, and at least one of them opened fire, striking Harper in the chest, arm, and back. He was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:28 p.m.
