On June 8, 2017, eight-year-old Eddric Pierre tragically lost his life in Monticello, Mississippi. The incident was reported as an accidental gunshot in the Oma community.
Following the incident, there were no reports of arrests or identification of suspects, as the shooting was deemed accidental. The community mourned the loss of young Eddric, with many expressing their condolences and lighting candles in his memory.
