His body was discovered on the 3300 block of Highway 11 and 80 in Lauderdale County. At the time of the discovery, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department initiated an investigation into his death.
Family members described Armstrong as a kind, humble, and caring man who was deeply devoted to his family.
Originally from Temple, Texas, he had relocated to the Toomsuba area with his wife, who was a native of the town. He was the father of two young daughters. His family remembered him as a man of strong Christian faith who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Armstrong had served in the U.S. Navy from March 2007 to February 2018 and came from a family with a history of military service. After being medically discharged, he pursued a new career path, graduating from cosmetology school in 2019 with plans to open his own barbershop and tattoo shop. His loved ones were left shocked and heartbroken by his sudden and violent death, struggling to understand why anyone would harm him.
In the days following the discovery of Armstrong's body, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported that they had no leads in the case.
