In the fall of 2012, the community of Clinton, Oklahoma, was met with the tragic news of the death of one of its young members. Chazarae Pete Bearshield, a 24-year-old male also known as “Red Tall Bird,” was found dead on October 23, 2012, near Clinton. Born on October 18, 1988, in Clinton, Chazarae, or “Chaz” as he was known to friends and family, was a resident of Custer County who had been raised and attended schools in both Clinton and Weatherford.
