In the winter of 2019, the community of Guthrie, Oklahoma, was shaken by the tragic death of 39-year-old Robyn Miles. On January 6th, a distressing 911 call led police to her home on Viking Drive, where a grim scene awaited them. Upon arrival, officers discovered Robyn's husband, Clyne Miles, in the front yard with a gunshot wound to his leg. He claimed that his wife had shot him while he was in bed.
However, inside the residence, authorities found Robyn Miles deceased in the master bedroom from a gunshot wound to her chest.
The investigation into Robyn's death quickly centered on her husband. Evidence at the scene, including a 9 mm handgun found in the living room and a shell casing discovered under Robyn's body, began to unravel Clyne Miles' initial account of the events. The Guthrie Police Department, led by the late Lt. Mark Bruning, diligently pieced together the evidence, leading to the arrest of Clyne Miles. He was subsequently charged with the murder of his wife.
The legal proceedings that followed painted a disturbing picture of the final moments of Robyn's life. In addition to the murder charge, Clyne Miles also faced a charge of lewd acts with a human corpse. Ultimately, he entered a blind plea to second-degree murder. In June 2023, a judge sentenced Clyne Miles to life in prison for the death of his wife. He will be eligible for parole after serving 38.5 years. At the time of his sentencing, he was the longest-serving inmate in the Logan County Detention Center, having been booked on the day of his wife's death.
