In the small town of Beggs, Oklahoma, the life of 43-year-old Tiffany Eichor, a female, came to a violent and tragic end on September 7, 2019. On that day, she and her parents, Jack and Evelyn 'Kaye' Chandler, were found shot to death inside their home. The scene told a story of a brutal home invasion; the front door was kicked in, and the power and telephone lines to the house had been deliberately cut. All three victims had been shot multiple times with at least two different caliber weapons.
The investigation into the triple homicide would soon unravel a complex plot of revenge, intimidation, and a shocking betrayal of the justice system Tiffany had turned to for protection.
The focus of the investigation quickly turned to Tiffany's ex-boyfriend, Barry Titus II, against whom she had a protective order. Tiffany had previously accused Titus of a brutal assault that left her hospitalized for days. As she prepared to testify against him, prosecutors believe Titus and his defense attorney, Keegan Harroz, began a romantic relationship and conspired to silence her permanently. Before the murders, there were alleged attempts to intimidate Tiffany and her family, including an incident where Harroz reportedly had a client plant a bag of sugar disguised as methamphetamine at the Chandler's home in an effort to discredit them. This led Tiffany's parents to install the very security camera that would later capture crucial evidence.
In the early morning hours of the murders, surveillance footage recorded two figures, one tall and one shorter, resembling Titus and Harroz, approaching the residence in a car similar to one owned by Harroz. The intruders cut the power before forcing their way inside. Investigators believe they shot Jack Chandler first. His wife, Kaye, was found shot in a closet where she had tried to hide. Tiffany was reportedly chased down a hallway and shot in the back. Key evidence linked the duo to the crime scene, including Titus's DNA found on a ball cap left near the home. A significant break in the case came when Harroz's own brother contacted authorities in Texas, turning over an AR-15 rifle he believed was used in the killings. Ballistic tests later confirmed that shell casings from that rifle matched those recovered from the scene.
In April 2021, while already in custody on federal firearms charges, Barry Titus and Keegan Harroz were charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree burglary. Prosecutors announced they would seek the death penalty for both. The very person entrusted to defend Titus in a court of law was now accused of helping him commit the ultimate act of violence to subvert the justice process, leaving a family devastated and a community in shock.
