In Enid, Oklahoma, on the evening of June 5, 2020, a distressing 911 call led police to the home of 29-year-old Cord Kenneth Allen, a male resident. Upon arrival, officers discovered Allen deceased, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators noted that he had been shot six times, with some wounds indicating a defensive struggle.
The focus of the investigation soon turned to Allen's former roommate, Jarrod Bergman. Evidence quickly mounted against him.
Bergman's driver's license was found at the crime scene, and a combination of witness statements, phone records, and surveillance footage placed him at Allen's house at the time of the murder. Following the shooting, Bergman fled the area. He was later apprehended by sheriff's deputies on the side of a road after the stolen vehicle he was driving had broken down.
