In the small community of Edgewater, Wisconsin, the life of 43-year-old David W. Palm was tragically cut short on October 31, 2009. A male victim of a violent act, his death was the result of a shooting that stemmed from a domestic dispute involving his sister.
The perpetrator was identified as Arthur Garcia, the 31-year-old former boyfriend of David's sister. In an act of targeted violence, Garcia went to the home and shot David W. Palm.
Following the fatal shooting, Garcia set the residence on fire, compounding the tragedy.
In the aftermath of the murder and arson, authorities launched an investigation to locate Garcia. His remains were later discovered in an abandoned home in Washburn County. The investigation concluded that Garcia had died by suicide, having shot himself while positioned on a pile of burning tires. Alongside his body, law enforcement found two handguns and three pipe bombs. The case was closed as a murder-suicide, with no further arrests made as the sole suspect was deceased.
