David D. McKay, aged 38, tragically lost his life on June 23, 2016, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred near 67th and Stevenson, where McKay was found with gunshot wounds. According to reports, he was discovered by a neighbor who initially mistook the gunshots for fireworks. Upon closer inspection, the neighbor found McKay with two gunshot wounds in his back.

Both Stewart and Whitehead were subsequently arrested and charged in connection with McKay's death. The criminal complaint detailed how Whitehead drove Stewart to and from the crime scene. After the shooting, Stewart reportedly returned to the car with money protruding from his jacket pockets. The pair later used the stolen money to purchase various items, including clothes and a hotel room.

Stewart faced a potential maximum sentence of 60 years in prison for the most serious charge, while Whitehead could face up to ten years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted.
