On a winter evening just days before Christmas, the life of Walter Kent Mundell Jr., a 44-year-old White/Caucasian male, was irrevocably altered. On December 21, 2009, Deputy Mundell, a ten-year veteran of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home near Eatonville, Washington.
