On a tragic evening that shattered the peace of a small Washington city, Shayla K. Martin, a 52-year-old Caucasian woman, lost her life. It was September 23, 2016, and Shayla was at her job at the Macy's department store in the Cascade Mall in Burlington, a place she had worked for a quarter of a century.
