In the quiet community of Port Angeles, Washington, the holiday season of 2018 was shattered by a grim discovery that would unravel a story of violence and betrayal. Darrell C. Iverson, a 57-year-old White male, was found dead at his rural property on Bear Meadow Road. He was a trucker who owned his own logging business and was described by those who knew him as a "huge teddy bear" despite a rough exterior.
Iverson was grieving the recent loss of his partner and was being supported by his son and his son's girlfriend.
On December 26, 2018, Darrell Iverson, his 27-year-old son Jordan Iverson, and Jordan's 26-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany May, were all shot multiple times. Their bodies were not discovered until New Year's Eve when a concerned family member, having not heard from them since Christmas, went to the property. There, they found the bodies of Darrell and Jordan Iverson hidden under a tarp in the yard. The following day, investigators discovered Tiffany May's body in a locked shed on the property.
The investigation into the triple homicide soon focused on three individuals who were acquainted with the victims: Dennis Marvin Bauer, Kallie Ann LeTellier, and Ryan Warren Ward. Investigators determined that Bauer and LeTellier had formulated a plan to rob and kill the Iversons. A dispute over Darrell Iverson's alleged treatment of LeTellier, who had been living at his residence, was cited as a motive. LeTellier had claimed that Darrell and Jordan Iverson had sexually assaulted her weeks before the murders.
According to prosecutors, on the morning of the murders, Bauer began shooting at Darrell Iverson. As Tiffany May attempted to flee, LeTellier was instructed to "take care" of her and shot her multiple times. Ryan Warren Ward, who had initially backed out of the plan, then rejoined and is said to have fired the final, fatal shots into the heads of the wounded Darrell and Jordan Iverson. After the killings, the three perpetrators ransacked the Iverson residence, stealing firearms, tools, jewelry, and drugs.
The ensuing investigation led to the arrests of Bauer, LeTellier, and Ward. In exchange for testifying against her co-defendants, Kallie Ann LeTellier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for her role in Tiffany May's death and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Ryan Warren Ward pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder and numerous other charges related to the theft and illegal possession of firearms. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Dennis Marvin Bauer was also charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated murder.
