A 74-year-old Caucasian woman, Mary Elisabeth Pickens, passed away on June 28, 2020, in Yakima, Washington. Born in Le Mars, Iowa, on May 15, 1946, she spent her early years on the family farm before relocating to Yakima in 1970. It was there she met and married James Ray Pickens in 1972, and together they raised two children.
Throughout her life, Mary was known for her strong faith and her deep, unconditional love for her children.
She had a passion for shopping and antiques, which led her to open her own gift shop, Pick-A-Dilly Corner. Following the death of her husband in 1999, she moved to Wenatchee to be closer to her children, returning to Yakima in 2013. Mary was remembered by friends as a sweet and great lady who often joined them for holiday celebrations.
