Green Rose, a 28-year-old railroad detective for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Police Department, tragically died on March 29, 1911, after being ambushed and shot in Baxter, Kentucky. The attack occurred on March 25, 1911, when Detective Rose was shot twice in the head. He was immediately transported to King's Daughters Hospital, where he remained unconscious until his death four days later.
