In the spring of 2016, the life of 35-year-old Alisha G. Tye was tragically cut short in Manchester, Kentucky. A mother of three daughters, Alisha was expecting another child when the devastating events unfolded. She was born on October 29, 1980, and had roots in Salem, Indiana, before her life in Kentucky.
On the evening of April 30, 2016, a violent encounter forced Alisha to flee her own home in a desperate search for safety.
She ran to a neighbor's residence, seeking refuge from her boyfriend. However, the sanctuary she sought was shattered when he pursued her, forcing his way into the neighbor's house. Once inside, he fired several shots at Alisha. Emergency services were called, and she was rushed to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for treatment of her critical injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Alisha succumbed to her wounds and passed away the following day, on Sunday, May 1, 2016. The investigation into her death quickly led to her boyfriend as the primary suspect. In the aftermath of the shooting, the Clay County grand jury handed down an indictment against him. The charges were severe, reflecting the gravity of the crime: he was charged with murder for Alisha's death and fetal homicide for the death of their unborn child.
