In the late hours of a Friday night in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, a violent encounter led to the tragic death of 56-year-old Victor L. Wilson. On May 6, 2017, the Fayette County Coroner's Office confirmed his passing in the early morning hours at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. The cause of his death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. Wilson was a Black/African American male.
