On a tragic day in February, the quiet community of Paintsville, Kentucky, was shaken by a horrific series of events that left four people dead, including 70-year-old Arlene Nickell. On February 10, 2018, Arlene and her husband, James Nickell, were found shot to death in the kitchen of their home in the McKenzie Branch area. The grim discovery was the beginning of a devastating murder-suicide carried out by their own son.
