On a tragic evening in Monticello, Kentucky, the life of 37-year-old Mandy Kinnett, a Caucasian female, was cut short. On November 11, 2019, events unfolded that left the community in shock and mourning. That night, at approximately 11:00 PM, law enforcement received a call for assistance and responded to a shooting at an apartment complex located at the intersection of KY 1545 and KY 92 West.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene inside Kinnett's apartment.
Preliminary investigations by the Kentucky State Police indicated that Christopher Polston, a 30-year-old from Monticello, had forced his way into the residence. Polston was the father of Kinnett's child, and their relationship was described as estranged. Inside the apartment, both Mandy Kinnett and Christopher Polston were found deceased.
Authorities reported that both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Their bodies were subsequently sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies to determine the exact cause of death. While the investigation is officially ongoing, the initial findings from law enforcement suggest that there are no other suspects involved in the incident. The case is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Monticello Police Department, Wayne County EMS, and the Wayne County Coroner's Office.
