Porshe Foster, a 15-year-old high school sophomore from Chicago, was shot and killed on November 26, 2012, while visiting friends in the Marquette Park neighborhood. Foster was in a friend's backyard when an unknown gunman opened fire, striking her in the back. Authorities believe that Foster was not the intended target, making her an innocent victim of Chicago's ongoing gun violence crisis at the time.
