William S. Presley, aged 47, was found shot to death in the garage of his home on LaBelle Avenue in northwest Rockford, Illinois, on March 24, 2013. Presley lived alone and ran a small business from his property. There was no sign of forced entry, which added complexity to the investigation. A burglary occurred shortly after his death at a storage shed Presley owned nearby, but police have indicated that the burglary and the murder are not believed to be connected at this time.
