On a late Wednesday evening in Williamsburg, Kentucky, the life of 31-year-old Kyle Wayne Rose Chadwell, a White / Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. On September 14, 2022, at a residence on Patrick Hollow Road, a physical altercation broke out between Chadwell and 48-year-old Martin A. Canada. The dispute escalated, and Canada allegedly shot Chadwell.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Chadwell to Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Kentucky State Police launched a search for Martin Canada, who they considered to be armed and dangerous. A warrant for his arrest on a murder charge was issued. The search concluded early on the morning of September 16, 2022, when police apprehended Canada in Whitley County. He was subsequently taken into custody and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
The legal proceedings that followed took an unexpected turn when a mistrial was declared in Martin Canada's trial. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, leaving the case unresolved and requiring further legal action. Kyle Chadwell was a father to three children, Nathan, Mason, and Kinsley. His funeral services were held at the Sanders Creek Church of God in Williamsburg, followed by his burial.
