On a quiet August morning in 2016, the tranquility of a rural Mahnomen, Minnesota farm was shattered by a 911 call reporting a shooting. When deputies from the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office arrived at the residence, they discovered a somber scene. Inside the home, they found the body of 68-year-old Elizabeth Thompson. A further search of the property led them to a Quonset hut, where they found her husband, 74-year-old Lynn Thompson, a White male, also deceased.
