On a Saturday evening in Minneapolis, what began as a gathering in the McKinley neighborhood turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 45-year-old Dillon Farkon Howard, a Black/African American male from the nearby suburb of Brooklyn Park. On November 21, 2020, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police were called to the 3700 block of North 6th Street where they discovered Howard and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were urgently transported to North Memorial
Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Dillon Farkon Howard succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m. that same evening. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that the cause of his death was multiple gunshot wounds and officially ruled it a homicide. The female victim, who was believed to be in her 20s, was left in critical condition following the shooting.
In the wake of the incident, the Minneapolis Police Department opened an active investigation into the double shooting. However, law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the homicide. To date, no arrests have been made in the case, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
