On July 13, 2013, Gizzell Ford, an eight-year-old girl from Chicago, was tragically killed after enduring severe abuse at the hands of her grandmother, Helen Ford, and her bedridden father, Andre Ford. Gizzell had been subjected to prolonged periods of torture, including being chained to a bed, beaten, deprived of food and water, and forced to remain in stress positions for hours.
