Jack Ryan Kelley, 29, a White male, was identified by the Kansas Highway Patrol as the man who fled a traffic stop in Hiawatha, Kansas, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a brief standoff in the 500 block of South 7th Street on Friday, March 7, 2014. During the confrontation, authorities said Kelley—wanted as a fugitive from St. Joseph, Missouri—shot himself in the head. He was transported for medical care and was pronounced dead the next day, Saturday, March 8, 2014.
