In the late summer of 2017, the life of a young soldier, Richard Brennan Cox, a 22-year-old White male, was tragically cut short at Fort Riley, Kansas. On the evening of Sunday, August 13, 2017, Cox was discovered with a gunshot wound on the military installation where he was stationed. Emergency medical services responded swiftly, and he was airlifted to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for urgent medical care.
