Death by Force

On October 13, 2013, Lionel E. Johnson, age 29, was shot and killed in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. The incident took place in the early hours, as Lionel and an acquaintance were walking through the parking lot of a gas station on South Cicero Avenue. It was just before 2 a.m. when a gunman approached them and fired multiple shots, striking Lionel. Emergency responders quickly transported Lionel to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
