On December 27, 2013, Sofia Tejeda, a one-year-old from Chicago, tragically died as a result of severe abuse. The incident took place in Harvey, a suburb of Chicago. Initially, the charges related to Sofia’s case were tied to an attempted murder. However, the charges were escalated to murder following her passing on July 21, 2016.
